Wesley George Reeves, August 22, 1928 - March 25, 2012. Wesley Reeves passed away at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home on March 25, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Wesley was born on August 22, 1928 on the family farm (15-30-10-W2 in the R. M. of Beaver) in the Sheho district of Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mabel (Klippenes) Reeves, brother Wilfred and partner Ella Tillman, and brother-in-law Verner Norman. Wesley is survived by three siblings and their families: sister Dorothy (Fred) Shiplack of Regina SK and their four children Joanne, Sharon, Kevin and Diana; sister Marion Norman of Blairmore AB and her three children Danita, Darcy, and Laurie; brother Richard (Marie Ann) Reeves of East St. Paul MB and their four children John, Carol, Laurs and Heather. Wesley's working life was long and varied. As a young teenager he began by working for farmers in the Tuffnell district and ended by working for farmers in the Springside district.In between he worked in the logging/lumbering industry in SK and in BC. on bridge-building and gravel crews in SK, in a grain terminal in BC and on pipeline construction in ON. Thank you to Alan and Jean Payne for the kindness they showed Wesley over the years. Thank you also to the staff at Jowsey House who cared for Wesley and to Dagmar Dietz who visited Wesley with compassion in his final days. A celebration of Wesley's life will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Springside Town Hall. Donations in memory of Wesley may be made to the Burn Fund of the Saskatchewan Professional Firefighters Association or to the Yorkton and District Nursing Home as gifts of remembrance. Cremation has taken place. Wesley's ashes will be interred in the Springside Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey's Funeral and Cremation Services.
