Rachel was born on November 20, 1921 to David and Dorthea Propp (nee Pister). She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Rhein, SK and remained a life-long member of the church. Rachel received her education at the Rhein School and then became involved with domestic duties on the farm. After the passing of family members, Rachel moved to Yorkton. In 2003, when her health began to fail, she became a resident of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She remained there until her passing on November 19, 2011. Rachel was predeceased by her parents; brothers David and Alex; sister Selma (Weber); brothers-in-law Conrad Schwartz and John Weber. Rachel is survived by her sister Hilda Schwartz; brother John (Elsie); niece Dorothy Fick (Jim) and family and nephews Kenneth and Dennis Weber and their families. Funeral Services were held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Christ Lutheran Church in Rhein, SK with Pastor Daphne Bender officiating. The organist, Arlene Stiglitz led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Just As I Am", "Amazing Grace" and "What A Friend We Have in Jesus". The interment service took place at the Christ Lutheran Church Parish Cemetery with Jim Fick, Dorothy Fick, Darryle Rothenberger, Brenda Wilcox, Frank Dryka and Garry Tillman serving as pallbearers.
