Nairn Lee Pengilly (Lee) of Melville, SK, passed away peacefully on January 28 at the age of 56 at St. Paul's Lutheran Home, Melville, following a courageous journey through cancer. Lee was predeceased by her father, Edward Reinhardt of Lethbridge, AB and her father-in-law, Dan Pengilly also of Lethbridge, AB. Left with many fond memories are her husband, Ben Pengilly and grown children, Dan and Carrie Pengilly, her Mother, Doreen Reinhardt of Lethbridge, AB, her sister, Susan Menzies and brother-in-law, Bob Menzies of Sonningdale, SK, Mother-in-Law, Eva Pengilly, brothers in law Gordon Pengilly (Connie Zerger), Richard Pengilly, Doug Pengilly (Elaine Unger-Pengilly) and sister in law, Dianne Reed (Ian Reed), as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends of the human and the animal variety. Lee was born in Medicine Hat, AB and lived in Walsh, AB, feeling most at home outside and on horseback, especially with her cousins at the JH Ranch. Lee and her family moved to Lethbridge in 1968 where she attended the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and performed in theatrical productions in the city. Lee met Ben in 1973, they were married in 1975 and together they took over the Pengilly Farm near Stirling, AB, in 1980. As a partnership, they farmed and then branched into Organic Farming and direct marketing of natural beef. Lee completed the Canadian Agriculture Lifetime Leadership Program in 1999 and had exciting opportunities to travel and meet many diverse people and create bonds with her beloved "Call-ies". Lee was also involved as a facilitator for Holistic Management Canada, traveling throughout the country conducting workshops. Lee, Ben and son, Dan, began their Saskatchewan pilgrimage in 2002, taking on ranchland near Melville, SK and falling in love with the many aspects of Saskatchewan life. Lee became very involved with SaskFlax and Food Focus in Saskatoon, SK, authoring, consulting and facilitating and meanwhile being an instrumental inspiration in her daughter's creating of a theatre company in Yorkton, SK, designing and building costumes for children. Lee will always be remembered for her wit, her intellect, her wisdom, her commitment to her friends and family, her "Tree Huggin', Slough Savin', Earth Mother" heart, her conviction and her zest for LIFE. Lee's family would like to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing team at St. Paul's Lutheran Home in Melville and the medical teams and supports in Saskatchewan who became dear friends to Lee. A Celebration of Lee's Life will be held on Saturday, February 4 at the Lethbridge Lodge in the Anton Ballroom in Lethbridge, AB, at 2:00 pm. And.as Lee would say, "Happy Trails!"
