Myron Pachal was born on August 19, 1936 in Yorkton, SK, the son of Samuel and Margaret Elizabeth (nee Rennie) Pachal. He passed away peacefully on February 23, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Myron was cared for during most of that time at home by his wife. Myron attended the Yorkton Collegiate where he completed his Grade 12. He began working as a truck driver with the family business, Pachals Transport with his father, Sam and brother, Eddy. He then worked for Canada Post until retiring after thirty years of service. In 1962, Myron met his future wife, Margaret and in 1963 they were united in marriage. Myron and Margaret both loved the farm life, being outdoors and working with animals so after getting married they bought a farm just outside of Yorkton and eventually had two children, Shelley and Curtis. Myron was a passionate farmer who raised milk cows, kept chickens as being outdoors was very near and dear to his heart. He also enjoyed camping and trips with his family to Ontario and the States, however travelling to British Columbia was his favorite, as he loved to bring home fruit. Although Myron struggled with his eyesight, with the love and support of his family and friends, he was able to find strength to overcome and make the best of any obstacle that came in his way. Myron's hobbies consisted of woodworking, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and coffee time with family and friends. However, Myron's biggest joy was spending time with his four grandchildren, Vanessa, Rory, Taylor and Tanner. After living on the farm for 38 years, Myron and Margaret decided to move into Yorkton where they met many new friends. Myron also loved devoting time to the First Baptist Church. He tended to the church by serving on the board, working numbers on the finance committee, and participated in the general upkeep of the church. Myron was predeceased by his sister, Mary Bittner (Irving) and brothers, Eddy and Dennis Pachal. He leaves to celebrate his memory and life, his wife, Margaret; brother, Elton (Kathy); sister-in-law, Helen Pachal; brother-in-law, Donny Taschuk; daughter, Shelley (Dave) Nussbaumer; son, Curtis (LeeAnne) Pachal; grandchildren, Vanessa and Rory Nussbaumer, Taylor and Tanner Pachal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Service of Remembrance took place on Tuesday, February 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church in Yorkton, SK with Pastor Steve Rosluk officiating. The organist, Karen DeLong led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "How Great Thou Art", "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace". Special music was performed by John and Judy Ward. A private family cremation committal will take place at a later date.
