Mrs. Rita Myrowsky of Yorkton entered eternal life early morning of May 10 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre following a brief period of failing health. Rita Mary Myrowsky (Soyka) was born July 30, 1940 on the family farm southwest of Langenburg, daughter of Adolph & Anna (Dutka) Soyka. She attended school at Landshut school and completed grade 8. She worked for families in the area and in Shoal Lake before she moved to Yorkton in 1961 and married Samuel Myrowsky July 1, 1967. She worked at various businesses until she started raising her family. After her children were older, Rita returned back to work and retired in July 2005. Rita moved to Fisher Court in 2010. She enjoyed helping seniors and her friends when she could and they needed a hand. She also helped out at the parish hall for many years. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was predeceased by her brother Edward (1944), her son Kevin (1970), her mother Anna (1976), her father Adolph (1981) and her sister Ann (2006); father-in-law, mother-in-law, 6 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. Rita is survived by three children Dean Myrowsky (Christine), Tamara Haberstock (Keith) and Michelle Squires (Brent); five grandchildren Katherine, Matthew, Breann, Nathan and Erin; seven brothers and sisters (Leonard, Theresa, Eleanora, Martha, Daniel, Norbert and Liz) and family members. A Prayer Vigil was held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Francis Hengen officiating. Mary Purcell did the reading. The Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Basil Chomos as the Celebrant. The cross bearer was Angela Brown and the altar servers were Larry Off and Joe Swejda. Lorraine Lysak accompanied members of St. Gerard's choir in the singing of the hymns. The readers at the mass were Shirley Pierce and Clara Krakalovich. The preparatory hymn was sung by Erin Squires and Eugene Kuemper. Serving as gift bearers were Tamara Haberstock and Breann Squires. The interment took place in the Garden of Gethsemane at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Nathan Haberstock, Daniel Soyka, Brian Schultz, Terry Schultz, Shawn Mitten and Colin Mitten serving as the casket bearers.
