Frances Mroczko

Mrs. Frances Mroczko beloved wife of Lyle Mroczko of Yorkton, SK passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Jowsey House (Sunrise Health Region). Frances Mroczko was born in Yorkton, SK. She attended Yorkton Composite High School then worked as a dedicated health care worker for 39 years with the Sunrise Health Region. Frances and Lyle were married in 1967 at St. Gerard's Church in Yorkton, SK. She served with the Parish as Eucharistic Minister, Proclaimer of the Word, Hospitality Minister, Sacristan and Baptismal Sponsor. She also sang in the choir. Frances sat on the Parish Council and Social Committees and was a helping hand at Parish events. As a dedicated lifetime member of the Catholic Women's League (CWL), she served as the President and was on the Diocesan for Regina, SK. She was an avid attendee of CWL conventions across the country. Frances was active in the Red Hat Society as a past Queen. She was a member of Scouts and Girl Guides as well as a Brownie leader for several years. Frances was delighted to lend a helping hand, giving time to numerous functions throughout the community. In her free time, Frances enjoyed travelling and has seen many sights across Canada from east to west. She travelled through 31 US states and 13 countries in Europe. She was an avid camper, a member of the Good Sam RV Club - Parkland Sams Chapter. She attended many Yorkton Terrier hockey games throughout the winter seasons. In the spring and summer, dancing was an enjoyable exercise and she attended numerous polka festivals. Frances also enjoyed taking the time to knit, crochet and garden. She enjoyed the arts and always had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. Frances was family orientated and always found time to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee with her friends and neighbours. Frances was predeceased by her mother and father, Stella and Frank Balint, her sister, Irene Kunellis and her husband, Lyle Mroczko, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Frances leaves her son, Bernard Mroczko of Regina, SK, her daughters Bridget Mroczko of Edmonton, AB and Delilah (Michael) Gerein of Edmonton, AB, her grandchildren, Wynonna and Brayden Mroczko and Terry Gerein. She also leaves behind her brother, Gerald Balint, her sisters, Valerie (Glen) McIvor, Roxanne (Robert) Paulhus, brother-in-law Harvey Kunellis (Phyllis Fitzpatrick) and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers were held on Thursday evening, January 5, 2017 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, Yorkton with Fr. Francis Hengen officiating. Giffy Justine was the Lector. Pianist, Lorraine Lysak, led in the hymns 'Like A Shepherd', Psalm 23, 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'Peace is Flowing Like A River'. Son Bernard & daughter Delilah gave the eulogy. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 6, 2017 from St. Gerard's Church. Fr. Hengen was the Celebrant, Fr. Basil Chomos Co-Celebrant.  The Lectors were Jason McIvor & Wyonna Mroczko. The cross bearer was Brayden Mroczko, the gift bearers were Valerie & Glen McIvor. Piainst, Lorraine Lysak, led members of the Parish Choir and the congregation in the hymns 'Morning Has Broken', Psalm 138, 'You Are Near', 'Be Not Afraid', 'On Eagles Wings', 'Song of the Angels' and 'Though The Mountains May Fall'. The casket bearers were Larry, Trevor & Jason McIvor, Rejean Houle, Henry Kweens & Greg Ottenbreit. The cremation committal took place in the family plot in the Garden of Crucifixion at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Son Bernard was the urn bearer. Condolences can be left at .
