Mr. Metro Mosiondz of Yorkton, beloved husband of Martha Mosiondz, passed away suddenly in the early hours of February 16, 2017. He was 85 years of age. Metro was born on December 13, 1931 in the Donwell district to John and Anastasia (nee Chalus) Mosiondz. He received his education at the local country school and was raised on the family farm. In 1959 Metro was united in marriage to Martha Krywulak. The couple established their family farm in the Gorlitz district. They ran a mixed farm operation for 37 years at which time they retired and moved to Yorkton. Metro and Martha were faithful parishioners of St. Mary's Parish and the Yorkton Retired Citizen's Club. Metro was active in the parish choir and a previous member of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood. His pastimes included gardening, fishing, playing cards and socializing with family and friends. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, his sister, Helen Lozinski and brother, Paul Mason, Metro leaves to cherish his memory; his beloved wife of 57 years Martha; his children Robert (Janelle) Mosiondz of Regina, Gaylene (Daren) Drummond of Regina and Randy (Amy) Mosiondz of San José; four grandchildren David & Matthew Drummond and Kyla & Ryan Mosiondz, all of Regina. Metro is also survived by three sisters; Mary Oucharek of Yorkton, Kathy Boguy of Regina, Rose Simmons of Yorkton and a brother Mike Mosiondz of Regina as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayers were held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Fathers Bohdan Lukie and Methodius Kushko, C.Ss.R. officiating. The Funeral Liturgy was held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rev. Father Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The cross bearer was Kyla Mosiondz and the epistle reader was Daren Drummond. The interment took place in the Garden of Gethsemane at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Ryan Mosiondz, David Drummond, Matthew Drummond, Luc Fougere, Kyra Fiacco and John Czinka serving as the casket bearers.
