Dora Melnechenko of Yorkton, SK and formerly of Theodore, SK passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She was 63 years of age. Dora was born on August 25, 1949 in the Parkerview District of Saskatchewan, the daughter of John and Irene (nee Ozirney) Melnechenko. She grew up in the Parkerview District and attended Okna and Sheho schools. Family was very important to Dora. She loved to have company and many happy hours were spent visiting with friends and family. In quiet moments she enjoyed the company of her television and enjoyed her favourite programs. Dora was very talented with ceramics and was employed for a short time with Diana May Clay in Theodore. Above all, her faith was very important to Dora. Dora was predeceased by her parents, John and Irene Melnechenko and by her brother, Alex Melnechenko. She leaves to mourn her passing many cousins, other relatives, care givers and friends. The funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home, Yorkton, SK with Reverend Molly Kitchen officiating. Special taped music selections included "Amazing Grace", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", and "In The Garden". The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK. The pallbearers were Dennis Byblow, Fred Allary, David Dariechuk, Joan Jest, and Judy Pollon. A reception followed in the George Gunn Memorial Reception Room at Christie's Funeral Home.
