Rose (Toth) Matysio was born August 4, 1919 in Hungary. She immigrated to the Goodeve area with her parents and brothers in 1928. As a young woman, Rose attended Bernadine School and helped out on her parents farm until the untimely death of her mother, Mary in 1940. The following spring Rose moved to Toronto to work in Eaton's warehouse. Rose made many life-long friendships while she resided in Toronto and often spoke of the happy times she had there. Shortly after relocating to Toronto she met her soon to be husband, Stanley Matysio. Rose and Stanley were married on October 22, 1945 in the Halmok Church in Garry District. They moved to Vancouver, B.C. until 1950 when they purchased a farm in Gilbert Plains, MB. Rose and Stanley spent many happy years in Gilbert Plains and were blessed with one son, Ronald Matysio. Rose was particularly proud of her bowling accomplishments and had many trophies to show her abilities. She loved gardening and entertaining her many friends and relatives. Rose and Stanley retired to Yorkton, SK in 1980 where they reunited with relatives and friends. Rose loved to sit on her deck in the summer and admire the flower garden that she and Stanley tended to with care. Their yard and garden was always stunning. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley; much beloved mother, Mary; father, Paul; brothers, Paul, Steve, Leslie and Frank. She is survived by her son, Ronald and his wife, Peggy of Dryden, ON; her granddaughters, Jennifer Romaniuk and Ashley Matysio; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Jeffrey, Hector and Athena as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Reverend Devon Pattemore officiating. Special taped music selections included "How Great Thou Art" as sung by George Beverly Shea and "Suppertime" as sung by Jim Reeves. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Charles Toth, Allen Toth, Wendell Toth, Kevin Krett, Jeff Krett and Jeff Romaniuk serving as the casket bearers.
