Dennis Francis Mandzuk was born August 22, 1935 on the family farm near Spy Hill, SK, the youngest son of Fred and Mary Mandzuk. Dennis' main life's work was mixed farming although he worked for a time at the Esterhazy mine in the late 1960's. He met Sharon Nagy in 1972 and they were married in February of 1973. Together they raised three children in Yarbo, SK, Glenda, Rhonda and Trent. Dennis was a well respected farmer in the area. His experience with cattle was well known in the area and many times was called upon for his "vet" skills. When Dennis wasn't busy farming he enjoyed curling and dancing. He worked hard his entire life to provide a good life for his family. Dennis and Sharon sold the family farm and retired to Yorkton in 2004. He enjoyed meeting friends for coffee to catch up on the latest news and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mary Mandzuk; his sisters, Eleanor Helmeczi, Violet Mandzuk and Genevieve Spanier and brother, Fred Mandzuk. He will be loved and remembered by his wife of 43 years, Sharon; daughters, Glenda Holmes and Rhonda Baer (Murray Schlamp); his son, Trent Mandzuk (Shelley); his grandchildren, Brittini Beebe (Mitchell), Nathan Holmes (Tia), Magnus Baer, Brooklyn Baer and Haily Schlamp; great-grandchildren, August and Kenna Beebe; sister, Magda Helmeczi (Andy) as well as other family members and friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Lorraine Lysak, as well as members of the church choir, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Morning Has Broken", "Psalm 23", "Peace is Flowing Like a River", "Be Not Afraid", "Song of the Angels" and "Sing With All the Saints in Glory". The readers were Dennis' granddaughters, Brooklyn Baer and Brittini Beebe, the cross bearer was Chester Helmeczi and the gift bearers were Veryl and Wally Boychuk. The Cremation Committal followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with grandsons, Nathan Holmes and Magnus Baer serving as the urn bearers. All were invited to return to St. Gerard's Parish Complex for lunch and the family shared a slide presentation that celebrated Dennis' life in photos. The family would gratefully accept donations in Dennis' memory to The Children's Wish Foundation. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting . Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
