Mr. Howard Manchur, late of Tyvan, SK, formerly of the Springside district, passed away on January 16, 2017 at Grace Hospice in Regina. He was 68 years of age. Howard Anthony Manchur was born in Spalding, SK to Katrina (nee Chernipski) and Anton Manchur. The family later moved to the farm in the Springside district. As a young man Howard started a trucking company and eventually built a home in Springside. Following that he was employed with Canada Post for many years. Most recently he continued trucking for A&B Concrete which was his passion. One of Howard's greatest joys was his grandchildren, he enjoyed spending quality time with them, taking them touring the country and going for ice cream. Austin spent many days and weekends from the beginning of his illness to his last months in the hospital, supporting his grandpa. Howard enjoyed going up north with Joey, Doug and Nester and many other friends and family, hauling wood and racing their new trucks. Robert Oscienny was also a great buddy of Howards who could tell you many stories of what they endured together as they grew up. Howard will be missed by numerous brother and sisters-in-law and many friends. Howard was predeceased by his son Calvin and daughter Teanda and by his parents Anton (Tony) and Katrina. Howard is survived by his wife Judy (nee Matychuk); daughter Tekena (Corey), Daniel, Dawson; daughter Tanya (Chad), Samantha, TiaRae (Kordell), Chloe; son Toni-Joe (Jamie), Braxton, Brandon; daughter Trisha (Trevor), Austin, Amy-Ray and Alianda. Also his sisters: Virginia Manchur of Calgary, AB; Bev (Ben) Klatt of Oliver, BC; Bonnie (Donald) Laing of Hagerstown, MD, USA and Cindy (Glen) Laczko of Saskatoon, numerous nieces, nephews and his many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Pastor Rick Harwood officiated. Organist, Sharlene Harwood led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Precious Lord, Take My Hand' and 'Just A Closer Walk With Thee'. Pastor Rick also sang a solo selection - 'He Touched Me'. A taped CD selection by Chris Stapleton was played as the recessional. The interment took place in the Springside Cemetery with grandson Austin Manchur serving as the urn bearer.
