MALINOWSKI - In memory of Mary Malinowski. 1924 - 2017. Mary was the fourth oldest child born to Patty Gara and Steve Korolek on the farm in the Theodore District. Mary attended Poplar Leaf School till grade seven and continued to work and live on the farm till she got married to Mike Malinowski in 1947. They settled on a farm which was across the road from where Mary spent her childhood. They continued to live on the farm until they retired to Theodore. Following Mike's passing, Mary continued to live in Theodore until she moved to live with her sister Anne and husband Joe in Yorkton. A few years later, when her health began to fail, Mary became a resident of Yorkton & District Nursing Home where she passed away on September 18. Mary's passion for travel started with her first trip to Hawaii; enjoying the luau and the countryside. Costa Rica gave her entirely new experiences; the jungle train ride, coffee plantations, butterfly farms and of course the beautiful sandy beaches. She eagerly accepted a Paris, Russia, Ukraine trip with a group of students and enjoyed an unforgettable train ride from Moscow to Kiev. Then her travels continued with friends to London, England, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. Mary's most endeared hobby was cross-stitching; a hobby shared by her mother. During her leisure time she created many beautiful and interesting pieces of cross-stitch. Many relatives have been presented with framed cross-stitched pictures as well as dresser scarves and tablecloths. She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Patty Gara and Steve Korolek; her brothers, John, Nick, Andy and Willie; sisters, Helen, Kay, Elsie, Doris and Iris and brother-in-laws Mike Chalus, Maurice Hrytzak, John Stecyk, Douglas Code, Walter Rybotycki, John Onufreychuk and Joe Baron and sister-in-laws, Claudia Korolek and Frances Korolek. She is survived by her sisters, Rose and Anne and brother, Matt (Gerda); sister-in-law, Susan Korolek as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service took place at Yorkton memorial Gardens Family Centre on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 1 pm with Rev. Fr. Louis Kim Nguyen officiating of St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church. Readers were Myra Rybotycki & Rob Baron. Accompanist Chris Fisher led the congregation in hymns "In The Garden", "Psalm 18", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Song of the Angels" & "Amazing Grace". The urn bearer was Matt Korolek. The interment took place at St. Paul's R.C. Cemetery - Theodore District.

She troubled no one, her wants were few

And now, dear Lord, she has come to you.

Take care of her as she takes her rest

For the one you have taken

was one of the best.

A cheery smile, a heart of gold,

She might have suffered much but never told.

Till God knew what was best,

He took her home and gave her rest.
