Kay Malinowski March 10, 1914 - June 1, 2012. Sadly we say goodbye to mother, grandmother, great grandmother, who lived ninety eight years. Kay Malinowski was born on March 10, 1914 in the Insinger district of SK, a daughter of pioneering homesteaders; Stephan & Anna (nee Domanko) Moldowan. She had seven brothers; Alec, Pete, Bill, John, Nick, Matt and George and two sisters; Mary and Victoria (who died as a child). Katie married Joe Malinowski in 1934 and took up the hard work of farming around Insinger and later moved to Rokeby. They raised four children: Victoria (Rudolph Varga) (Bruce Massey), Edward (Donna), Christine (Joe Stachura) and Amos, who died accidentally in 1970. From here there are nine grandchildren, Len and Lee Malinowski, Murray, Wanda, Wade and Melanie Stachura. David, Donna, Darrell Varga and special granddaughter Tami. Great grandchildren are; Katina Stachura, Kyle Stachura, Shelby and Kaela Patton, Cassey, Colton and Brianna Malinowski, Benjamin and Sara Varga, Dustin Malinowski, Broden Ryczak. She was a member of the Rokeby United Church and the Ladies Club. Kay and Joe retired in 1975 and moved to Yorkton. She joined St. Andrews Church and the Ladies Club, Fair View Unit. Joe and Katie joined the New Horizons Senior Centre and spent many hours playing cards and dancing. She also helped with the lunches. All in all, she lived a busy life. Kay is predeceased by her husband Joe, her son Amos, her seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Milo Spooner Craig officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns "In the Garden"‚ and "Amazing Grace". A recorded musical selection "The Rose" by Bette Midler was played. Interment followed in the Garden of St. Matthew in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Len Malinowski, Lee Malinowski, Kyle Stachura, Murray Stachura, Wade Stachura and David Varga serving as the casketbearers. Memorials in memory of Kay may be made to the Porch Light Care Home 77 Circlebrooke Drive Yorkton, SK S3N 2R9 towards furnishings for comfort of the residents as gifts of remembrance. This was Kay's last residence and she considered it a piece of heaven. Condolences can be emailed to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com.
