KULLBERG- Mary Kullberg, resident of the Theodore Health Care Centre, widow of the late John Kullberg, passed away on November 14, 2017 at Theodore. She was 98 years of age. Mary was born on the family farm, in the Sheho district, on Sept. 19, 1919. She was the youngest daughter of Hawrylo & Oksana (nee Petryk) Sebulski, Ukrainian pioneers. Mary attended Fosti School. She later worked at the Queen's Hotel in Sheho. In 1951 Mary married Johnnie Kullberg, an electrician, at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton. They lived in Sheho until 1965, later moving to Yorkton. After the death of her husband Johnnie in 1995, she continued to reside in her home. Due to failing health, Mary made the move to Porch Light Care Home and eventually in 2011, to the Theodore Nursing Home, until her death. Mary's hobbies included crafts, cooking, baking, gardening and her flower beds. Mary had a heart of gold. She was a kind and generous aunt. There was always enough canning and baking, especially scuffles and tarts, to be shared with Wilmer and Dorothy and the great-nieces and nephews. Mary and Johnnie were always willing to spend time with their great-niece Shelly, whether it was sleep overs, summer holidays, shopping and baking together. Mary had a great love for her dogs...they were all very special to her and Johnnie. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Yorkton and previously of St. Nickolas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Insinger. She leaves to cherish her memory and to celebrate her life, her nephews: Wilmer (Dorothy) Ostapowich of Yorkton and family, Eugene Sebulsky (Vicki) of Yorkton, nieces: Adele Windrum (Don) of Medicine Hat and family, Evelyn Osika (Martin) of St. Albert and family, Sharon Magas (Ed) of Kelowna. Mary was predeceased by her husband Johnnie, her parents, sisters Anne Berezowski and Effie Ostapowich, brothers Nick and Bill Sebulsky, and in-laws, John Berezowski, Ella Sebulsky and Rose Sebulsky, as well as her nephew, Morris Sebulsky. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Friday, November 17, 2017 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Fr. Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R as Celebrant. Cantors Bernadette Gabora & Victor Puchala led in the singing of the responses. The cross bearer was Darby Sauter. The interment took place in the Garden of Crucifixion at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Bernie Sebulsky, Deron Malinowski, Leonard Sebulsky, Ron Sebulsky, Walter Kolybaba and John Kachur serving as the casket bearers. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com.
