Margaret Elaine Kriger. 1950 - 2017. It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Margaret Elaine Kriger, at the age of 66, on January 11, 2017 after a three year battle with cancer. She is survived by her children Darren (Maria), Rob (Ashlee) and Dale Folkersen. Grandchildren Quinn Dillabaugh, Jaedyn MacNeill, Maggie Campbell, William Folkersen and Ava Folkersen. Her parents, Gary and Violet Kriger of Yorkton, SK. Her siblings Shirley Florek (Rick), Allen Kriger (Donna), Dennis Kriger (Noreen) and Wally Kriger (Donna). Margaret was born and raised in Saskatchewan and grew up in a farming family. She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she earned a degree in Education. She taught elementary school in Saskatoon until the birth of her first son. Subsequent years were spent in Meota and Shellbrook, SK. Eventually she settled in Saskatoon where she ran an in-house daycare until 1998. Margaret spent the next eight years teaching internationally in Columbia, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Korea. She had a love for travel and visited over 20 countries during her time abroad. She retired to High River in 2012 to spend time with her grandchildren. Margaret's passion for life and sense of adventure were an inspiration to all she met. Her smile and laugh were her greatest asset and her friends wherever she went. A service was held in High River on January 15.
