Meda Ruth Johnson (nee Thrower) passed away at the age of 80 on September 20, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Grenfell High School in 1949, then went on to work for SaskTel in Regina. Meda had various jobs in Ontario and Manitoba before she met and married the love of her life Sydney Johnson in 1960. They resided in Pervical, SK. until 1968 when they moved to a farm just north of Percival where they raised their 5 children. In 1985 they retired from farming and moved to Whitewood, SK where she enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower garden. In 2002 they moved to Yorkton, SK. Meda loved to write poetry and short stories as well as being an avid reader. She also loved decorating in her later years. She was pre-deceased by Syd in 2007. She leaves to mourn her passing her five children: Michael of Whitewood, Thomas (Sheila) of Yorkton, SK, Ken (Shelley) of Oxford, MI, Joan (Ford) of Calgary, AB, and Rob (Colleen) of Regina, SK. along with 9 grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Donations may be made in remembrance of Meda to the Canadian Cancer Society. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.
