Gregory Francis Jeroski was born on May 13, 1948 at Melville, SK; a son of Frank and Catherine (nee Hoffman) Jeroski. He lived for two years in the Elfros district before moving to Melville. He was raised in Melville and received his education in the Catholic School system. After graduation he tried his hand at a few jobs before beginning what would be a 36 year career with the provincial government, Liquor & Gaming Authority, firstly in Melville, then in Yorkton. Greg met the love of his life, Colleen Hamilton in 1987. The couple were married in 1988 and blessed with a son Aaron in 1989. His family was the pride and joy of his life. He was supportive in whatever his family did. After he retired he was very supportive of the local sports. Greg passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Jowsey House. He was 68 years of age. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Colleen; his son Aaron of Yorkton; brothers: Dave (Heather) of Kelowna; Jim (Donna) of Regina; Tom (Susie) of Oakbank, MB and John (Diane) of Cranbrook, BC. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his brothers-in-law, Rick Hamilton of Hubbard and Jim (Donna) Hamilton of Lac Du Bonnet, MB. The Prayer Vigil was held on Thursday evening, October 27, 2016 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton. Rev. Fr. Francis Hengen officiated. The Lector was Heather Jeroski. Pianist, Colleen Bourne led members of the Parish Choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'On Eagles Wings', Psalm 23 and 'Peace is Flowing Like A River'. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday morning, October 28, 2016 from St. Gerard's Church with Fr. Hengen as Celebrant. The Lectors were Susie and Heather Jeroski. The cross bearer was Shaun Jeroski and the gift bearers were Katherine Jeroski and Micah Ross. Pianist, Diane Hornung led members of the Parish Choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Be Not Afraid', Psalm 116, 'Precious Lord, Take My Hand', 'Come To Me', 'Song of the Angels' and 'Though the Mountains May Fall'. Honourary bearers were Grant & Val Hedley and Jim Steffan. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dan Philipchuk, Brent Hamm, Allen Mehling, John Bodnar, Jerry Meekma and Sheila Sharp serving as the casket bearers.
