With sadness, the family of Cherrilynn Jean Hudy (nee Martel) announce her passing on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Jowsey House, Yorkton & District Nursing Home, Yorkton, SK. She was 41 years of age. Cherrilynn, "Cherrie" as she was known to friends and family, was born on February 17, 1972 in Regina, SK.. She attended Redvers School and Yellow Grass School before graduating from Weyburn High School. She attended the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT). At the time of her death, Cherrie was employed as a Supervisor at Value Village. Cherrie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December of 2012. Amid the struggles of the disease, Cherrie celebrated the love in her life and was united in marriage to Travis Hudy on May 11, 2013. She will be remembered for her love of the muppets, mermaids and the television show, "Dr. Who". Cherrie loved people and those that were honoured to call her friend, soon became family to her. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew her. Cherrie was predeceased by her grandparents, Bob and Marion Martel. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her husband, Travis; her mother, Katherine Martel of Regina, SK; her son, Andrew Martel (Tara Kinash) and grandson, AJ of Saskatoon; her son, Ethan Martel (Jenna Clay) of Saskatoon, SK; her daughter, Abigail Tavella; her siblings, Christine Martel, Stephen (Linda) Andersen, Laura Andersen, David Martel and Jessica Martel; many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; her cat, Marmalade as well as many friends, too numerous to mention. A Visitation for Family and Friends was held on Friday, November 1, 2013 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK. The Grave Side Funeral Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen and Reverend Alex Parson officiating. The Honourary Pallbearers were all those in attendance, who loved and were loved by Cherrilynn. The active pallbearers were Andrew Martel, Ethan Martel, Stephen Andersen, David Martel, Andrew Hunter and Ted Clarke. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Anglican Church, 1801 Lorne Street, Saskatoon, SK with Reverend Alex and Shelly Parsons officiating.
