Harvey Hermanson; January 30, 1965 - June 8, 2013. Mr. Harvey Hermanson of Calgary and formerly of Yorkton; beloved husband of Marion passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Santuari Hospice in Calgary, AB with family and friends by his side. Harvey was born January 30, 1965 in Yorkton, SK - the fourth of five children born to Don and June Hermanson. After attending high school in Yorkton, Harvey moved to Alberta to work in the oil patch. He then moved back to Saskatchewan to work on a farm and met Marion in 1983 in Yorkton. Harvey and Marion were married in August 1986 and a year later they moved to Thunder Bay, ON where Harvey worked in the glass industry for 10 years. Their 3 children were born in Thunder Bay. In 1997, the family moved to Red Deer, AB and Harvey worked in the overhead door industry for 15 years. In December 2011, Harvey was diagnosed with cancer and spent the next 18 months in Calgary receiving treatment. Harvey will be dearly missed by Marion, his loving wife of almost 27 years. He will be lovingly remembered by their 3 children: Jessica (Mike) Kraemer of High River; Crystal of Red Deer and Tyson of Red Deer and his very special granddaughter Peyton Kraemer. He also leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Don and June Hermanson, his 2 brothers Dave (Viola) Hermanson and Ron (Brenda) Hermanson and his 2 sisters Bev Whyatt (Wayne) and Brenda Murray. Harvey will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Harvey made his choice to serve God in May 1976. This heart choice was his focus and strength throughout his life, while making a living and spending time with family and friends. Harvey's pride and joy were his children. He loved to spend time with them and he leaves many fond memories with his children of camping, skiing and other special times. Since February 2012, Harvey's greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter Peyton. A funeral service was held on Monday morning June 17, 2013 from the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home Calgary AB with Merlin Affleck, Rick Larson, Corri Pearman and Valerie Collie officiating. The organist was Braden Pihrag leading the congregation in the Hymns: "Life's Short Day", "It Pays To Serve Jesus", "God's Word Is So Pure, "I've A Friend" and "Leave Me Not Alone". The Ushers for the service were Dave Hermanson, Ron Hermanson, Dale Woods and Ervin Boyd. The interment followed in the Garden of Everlasting Life, Mountain View Memorial Gardens with Curtis Hermanson, Tim Boyd, Vance Layden, Herb Marshall, Barrie Howden and Jeff Hyslop as Casket Bearers and all those in attendance serving as Honourary Bearers.
