William "Bill" Hartmier, son of Ernie and Edith (nee Watson) Hartmier, was born on the family farm near Roblin, MB on August 29, 1934. William moved with his family to Yorkton, SK. at the age of eight years. He attended school in Yorkton. On March 17, 1956, William married the love of his life, Margaret German. This union was blessed with two children, Carol who was born on December 6, 1956 and Albert, born on July 17, 1963. William worked for different companies driving trucks and operating heavy equipment. He purchased his landfill operating business in February of 1976. He worked as a landfill contractor for the City of Yorkton until his retirement in August of 2005. William enjoyed watching sports and going fishing with his family. Hockey was the sport he loved best, especially cheering on the Yorkton Terriers, and he held a season ticket for many years. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Ernie and Edith; his brothers, Wilbert and John and his sister, Marguerite. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret; his daughter, Carol (Larry) Hrehor and their children, Diane and Cheryl of Saskatoon, SK; his son, Albert (Delilah) Hartmier and their children, Candace (Sheldon) and Travis of Yorkton; his two brothers, Jim (Linda) and Garry (Birdie) and their children, all from B.C.; his brother-in-law, Matt German of Winnipeg and sister-in-law, Lena Boychuk of Roblin, MB and their families as well as many other nieces and nephews. William touched many lives with his sense of humour and kindness. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
