Charles Edward (Ted) Harper. Ted passed away in Sidney, BC on Friday, August 5 in his 80th year. Born in Yorkton, SK on March 7, 1936 to Nell and Jim Harper, a brother to Rusty (Doreen) Harper and Dawn (Donald) Moncur. He tried it all...delivering newspapers, flowers for his Uncle's Flower Shop and Texaco bulk oil for his Dad. Racing stock cars, radio announcing for CJGX Yorkton, TV News for CJOB Winnipeg and back to CJGX Melville Radio with the "Rolling Home Show" from 4-6pm. He travelled Northern Saskatchewan with Diversey Chemicals, moved to Victoria, BC with CJVI Radio, built houses, owned a CAT on tracks for moving dirt, painted ships for Yarrows, bartended, was a Realtor, owned Gulf Cruises and pleasure boating and was a fixer of everything for anybody. He just couldn't sing or bake cookies! He was a friend to many and loved by his family...a King for his Princess daughter Shannon, a "Buppa Love" to granddaughters Bronwyn (Cody) Reiner and MacKenzie Reiner and to their little boys Lucas and Nolan...and missing him forever, after 55 eventful years, his wife Sharrin. There will not be a public gathering but donations in Ted's memory could be made to: The Palliative Care Unit, Saanich Peninsula Hospital, 2166 Mt. Newton Xrd, Saanichton, BC.
