Theresa Marie Hamer (nee Peppin) passed away December 7, 2011 just 2 days after her 72nd birthday surrounded by her family at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre following a brief bout with cancer. She was predeceased by her father Fred Peppin and mother Jeanette (nee Langan) Peppin; a brother Ben Peppin and sister Gloria. She is survived by a loving family. Her significant other, Grant Johnson, her sister Anne Martin (nee Peppin), her brother Paul Peppin and his partner Bea Pelletier. She also leaves behind a step son Darcy Hamer and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. People knew her as a loving and caring person who spent 20 years as a care giver for the mentally challenged. She was a great cook who worked at the Holiday Inn and Hansel & Grettels for many years. Theresa loved to garden leaving behind a beautiful yard. She was a great lover of animals. Her partner and her loved to travel, seeing all of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan as well as most of United States and Mexico. The family sincerely wishes to thank the nursing staff of 1st East & West and Dr. Lawale for their care and compassion. The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 13 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Francis Hengen as the Celebrant. Serving as cross bearer was Daemon Pelletier. The pianist, Pam Yaremko led members of St. Gerard's Choir in the singing of the hymns, "Precious Lord Take My Hand", "Psalm 23", "I Will Never Forget You", "Peace Prayer", "Song of The Angels" and "Amazing Grace". The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Jerry Pelletier, Beatrice Pelletier, Carrie Pelletier, Rick Flamont, Derreck Langan and Hank Fiddler serving as casket bearers. Memorials honouring Theresa's life may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Offerings of Mass.
