GILLESPIE- Mrs. Dorothy Gillespie, formerly of Yorkton, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017 in Swift Current at the age of 91 years. Dorothy Irene Gillespie (nee Adams) was born in Decker, MB. Dorothy, her brother Gordon and sister Peggy grew up on the family farm in Decker and later in Hamiota. After high school, she moved to Boissevain and worked as a telephone operator. There she met and married her husband, Donald Glen Gillespie. Later, when living in Yorkton, she truly enjoyed her job as a Nurse's Aid at the Yorkton Nursing Home. She enjoyed a good time with family and friends. She and Glen spent many happy camping trips in their little green Boler with their daughters and their families. They had great times travelling to Florida and California with close friends. Dorothy's past four years were spent at Riverside Village Estates in Swift Current. A place where she made new friends and was loved by all. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Glen and daughter Brenda Lorraine Pelcher. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Neil) Ellis-Toddington, daughter Karen (Dave) Parenteau, grandchildren; Kerry (Courtney) Ellis-Toddington, Kade (Amy) Ellis-Toddington, Treena (Aaron) Carson-Piva, Tyler Ostapovitch, Jaime (Brian) Hagel, Rebecca (Lee) Buness, Chad (Jenna) Parenteau, ten great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Dorothy (Keith) Hicks and many nephews, nieces and special friends, Carol and Phil Sirois. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant, officiating. Tributes were shared by Kenna Hagel and Linda Ellis - Toddington. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Mark at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kerry Ellis - Toddington, Kade Ellis - Toddington, Tyler Ostapovitch, Jaime Hagel, Rebecca Buness and Chad Parenteau serving as the casket bearers.
