Veronica Farkus of Theodore passed away on June 5, 2017 at Jowsey House of Yorkton District Nursing Home. She was 76 years of age. Veronica Mathilda Farkus was born on November 26, 1940 in Yorkton, SK., the second daughter of Steve & Caroline Farkus of Parkerview, SK. She was raised on the family farm and attended Crewkerne School. In later years Veronica worked as a mother's helper at various locations such as Regina, Yorkton & Leroy, SK. She returned to the farm where she met Donald Solomon and together they had a son Clifford, born in 1980. After a few years they moved to Theodore where she resided until failing health caused her to go to Jowsey House in the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. Veronica was a very loving and warm hearted person. She always felt sorry for those less fortunate and helped in any way that she could to the best of her ability. She especially loved little children, even doing some babysitting in Theodore. Her daily phone calls will be sorely missed. She always wanted to know what everyone was doing and how they were. Rest in peace Veronica. You have truly earned it. You will be sadly missed and will always be in our hearts with love. She is predeceased by her parents & partner Donald Solomon. She leaves behind her son Clifford, two sisters, MaryAnn Lasch and Joan Yaworski and a brother Gerald and his wife Louise as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home in Yorkton with Crystal Bailey, B.Th officiating. The special music, 'Old Rugged Cross', 'Amazing Grace' and 'In The Garden' was included in the service. The interment took place in the Parkerview Cemetery with Clifford Farkus serving as the urn bearer.
