Maureen Elliott

It is with heavy hearts we mourn the peaceful passing of Maureen Elliott (nee Debnam) on January 17, 2017 at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, SK. Maureen was born in Yorkton, SK on April 6, 1966, eldest child of Pat and Brenda (nee Vallance) Debnam of Churchbridge, SK. Maureen took all of her schooling in Churchbridge, learning to write with her left hand when her right was injured on the farm. Maureen enjoyed volleyball, synchronized swimming and working as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. Maureen's friends can attest to her lively social life and have many stories to share. After high school, Maureen had many life experiences, living in Saskatoon, Yorkton and Churchbridge. She went to university, worked at swimming pools, obtained her certificate in computer-aided drafting and cared for Aunt Kay. Maureen eventually settled in Regina and met the love of her life, Randy Elliott ("My Randy"). Maureen and Randy were married on March 4, 2015 in Cuba. As a couple they couldn't stay home on Randy's days off. Their favourite places were sandy beaches and high mountains, or any place a niece or nephew was playing sports. Sadly, Randy passed away on November 1, 2015. Maureen was happiest when baking for others (especially as Lead Pastry Chef for K+S pipefitters), tending her tomato and herb garden and making people laugh. She loved watching NASCAR racing every Sunday, shopping with her nieces and being "The Favourite Aunty". Maureen will live forever in our hearts. She leaves to celebrate her life, her parents, Pat and Brenda Debnam; sister, Rhonda (Scott); brother, Russell (Marilyn); and her nieces and nephews, Aaron, Alyssa, Logan, Hilary, Hudson, Amber, Brynn and Wade; father-in-law, Wayne; and brother-in-law Rob (Connie) as well as many other relatives and good friends. A Service to Celebrate Maureen's life was held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Kathy Novak officiating. Special taped music selections included, "Seasons in the Sun" by Terry Jacks, "The Dance" by Garth Brooks and "Sissy's Song" by Alan Jackson. Words of tribute and eulogy were shared by Marilyn Debnam, Scott Bolt, Connie Elliott, Sharon Shore and Wayne Elliott. The urn bearer was Russell Debnam. Maureen and Randy will be interred in the North Prairie Lutheran Church Cemetery in Preeceville, SK at a later date. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting . Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
