Mrs. Lillian Elaschuk of Regina, formerly of Yorkton, passed away on December 2, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Lillian Agnes Elaschuk was born on January 21, 1927 at Wakaw, SK, a daughter of John and Barbara (nee Budai) Graczo. Later she moved with her family to Bjorkdale, SK. On November 29, 1949 Lillian was united in marriage to William Elaschuk at Tisdale, SK. The couple established their home in Yorkton and raised three children. When the children were old enough to look after themselves, Lillian went to work full time as a cook for the Co-op restaurant. She retired in her fifties when she became a grandmother and devoted her time babysitting the grandchildren. Lillian had many passions which included gardening, flowers and travelling. She loved doing crafts and loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Her greatest love was her family and her Himalayan cat, Gizmo. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Leonard (Suzanne) and their children Erin and Kim of Yorkton, her daughter Linda Elaschuk of Regina and her son Allen (Laurie) and their children Chris and Jay of Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband William in 2000 and two sisters, Irene Larson and Pauline Yurchuk. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Jen Dresser of St. Andrew's United Church officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Soloists, Judy Westman & Robert Leduc and duets, "My Mother" and "On The Wings of A Dove". A eulogy was shared by Charlene Hodge. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Matthew at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Frank Andres, Dave Dubnyk, Carl Steciuk, Robert Leduc, Bryce Sherring and Garry Krieger serving as the casket bearers.
