Anna Amalia Dressler (April 17, 1922 - July 6, 2016). Anna's family is sad to announce her passing at age 94. Anna Amalia was born to Wilhelm and Christina Rosin on the family farm near Pennock on April 17, 1922. She was born the eighth of 12 children. She grew up and attended school in the Pennock and Rothbury districts. She was baptized and confirmed in the Rothbury Lutheran Church. On October 16, 1945 she married the love of her life George Baumung, who passed suddenly on January 9, 1946. Anna and George had been blessed with one daughter Shirley, born after his passing. Anna remarried Ewald Dressler in 1949. They separated a number of years later. Anna was a hard working, independent woman. She and her daughter farmed south of Churchbridge for ten years. After leaving the farm, Anna and Shirley moved to Churchbridge where she worked as a clerk at various stores for about ten years. Anna then worked at Anderson Lodge in Yorkton for 18 years until she retired in 1984. Anna loved her time with the residents and her co-workers and missed work very much. When she retired Anna moved to Yorkton to take up residence in a senior's complex where she was active with the local senior's groups. She participated in social events such as card games, picnics, barbecues and coffee row. She loved completing puzzles as long as her eyesight allowed. Her passions included tending her flower beds, vegetable garden and singing in the church choir. Anna had a strong faith and belief in God. She has been a long-term member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Churchbridge. Anna was kind and loving. Her greatest love by far was of her family, including Shirley (Gordon) Smith, grandchildren, Joanna (Bill Campbell) Smith, David Smith and great-grandchildren Finn and Kai Campbell. Though great-grandchildren came late in her life, she took such joy in holding and playing with Finn and he filled her heart in her last days. To her family Anna was a strong woman, feisty and a bit mischievous. She was also gentle and loving. As a single working mom raising a daughter she was always focused on Shirley and was immensely proud of Shirley's accomplishments in life. To her grand-children, Anna was deeply dedicated, teaching the values of family, generosity, work-ethic, honesty and integrity which she valued most. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband, George Baumung; parents, Wilhelm and Christina Rosin; infant brother, Adolf; brothers, Gustav, Gottlieb, Christian (Sylvia), Reinhold (Phyllis), William (Elsie), Harold (Mabel), Henry and George; sisters, Lydia (Adolf) Dressler and Maria (Hallgrimur) Laxdal and grandson, David Smith.
