DRAYCOTT- Anne Draycott, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a truly great friend to many, passed away quietly and peacefully surrounded by her family on October 12, 2017 at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 79 years. Anne had a passion to help people; it is what led her to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her career was short lived however, because of her devotion and love for her family. Spending quality time with her family was very important to her and letting them know just how much she loved and adored them. Anne volunteered her time with the Royal Canadian Legion, Royal Purple, the Dr. Brass lunch program, F&ST(Families and Schools Together) and helping Trina with her daycare. Anne's love for people was apparent and she was always thinking of others. Camping was one of her favourite pastimes with her family and friends. Every weekend during the summer you would find Anne & Gerry at the lake. Rodeos and chuckwagon races was another love of hers, betting with whomever she could and always winning. The past few years she had battled with strokes, allergies and aneurysms. There had been a few hospital visits that were longer than her liking, but she was tough and always pulled through. It does give the family some comfort knowing that she is now reunited with her son, Bill. She will be loved and missed by many. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Gerry; her daughters, Trina (Dale), Judy (Lonnie) and Darcy; her grandchildren, Billy, Cassandra (Trina's), Megan, Nathan (Bill & Wendy's), Shawna (Jeremy), Merissa and Wade (Judy's); and her great-grandchildren, Ethan (Megan's) and Jeresen (Shawna's); her brothers, Ray (Cathy) Johnson, Gar (Nancy) Johnson; her sister, Susan Piper and by numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. She also leaves her special friends, Heather (Rodney) Rosenthal and Louise (Delvin) Szumutku. Anne is predeceased by her son, Bill Draycott, her mother, Margaret Piper, her father Charles Johnson, her brother Benny Johnson and her sisters, Fay Johnson and Mabel Johnson. A service in celebration of life and social was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Eagle's Club, #1600 Halifax Street in Regina with Jason E. Kopan serving as the Celebrant. Those so wishing to make a charitable contribution in memory of Anne Draycott may do so with a donation to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, #279 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8 1-306-244-2124 www.heartandstroke.ca.
