Agnes Diceman passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Canora Gateway Lodge on February 22, 2012. Agnes was born in Dauphin, MB on July 14, 1925, the fifth child of seven, born to Pinkey and William Robb. She grew up on the small family farm, attending Durston School and later Dauphin Collegiate. Following her education she worked in a Dauphin bakery. Baking was one of her pleasures until her later years. She married George Diceman on March 19, 1946 and moved to the Diceman family farm in the Mapleside School District. Agnes worked tirelessly with George in all capacities of farm life including fieldwork and tending to the animals. She planned and harvested a huge, beautiful garden each year that provided food for the family until the following harvest. She entered her produce in the Harvest Showdown and was delighted to win a ribbon. If she had extra garden vegetables or fruit, she happily shared with neighbours, extended family, and those in need. Agnes and George were blessed with three children, Georgina, Terence and Raegina. She was devoted to her family, which continued to grow over the years, as she became a grandmother and great grandmother. Agnes had many interests including music and nature. She faithfully travelled to Edmonton, attending Raegina's students' concerts and always brought candy canes for the little ones at Christmas. In summer, she tended the gardens, both flower and vegetable. In winter, she read, embroidered and quilted, including making quilts for each of her grandchildren. She canvassed for the Cancer Society. In her later years, she enjoyed watching figure skating and curling on TV and would stay up all night watching Telemiracle. Due to deteriorating health, Agnes entered Canora Gateway Lodge in July of 2011. The recreation staff included her in many activities, the first, being the July Birthday Celebration, and many outings, her last, being the Canora Christmas Carol Festival. She was often seen smiling as she watched the activities. Agnes was predeceased by her parents; her four brothers and their wives, Bill (Effie), Alex (Vivian), Arthur (Elizabeth) and Keith (Jackie); one sister and her husband, Joan (Tom) Wilson and Joan's first husband, William Gillies; her brothers-in-law, Peter Kindrat and Ed Parno; her brother-in-law, and his wife, Harold (Yvonne) Diceman; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Ruby (Manuel) Snyder and Mary (Linton) Duhame and Mary's first husband, Lorne Agar.
