Jeanette Lorraine Currie, 77, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, N.S. She was born on Sept. 27, 1939 in Yorkton, SK to Metro and Annie Hull. She attended school in nearby Willowbrook and Yorkton. Jeanette began her career as a secretary with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Winnipeg and Montreal and later for the Vancouver and Toronto school boards. A highlight was her work for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service in Toronto. Jeanette married Dave Currie, the love of her life, in 1965 in Winnipeg. They were married for 51 years, enjoying golf and curling together and travelling across Canada and Europe. Jeanette loved to cook and her lavish meals were the focus of a joyful life with her family. She was an avid reader and a recent member of a local art study group. Jeanette was dearly loved by her family. She is survived by her husband Dave and son Timothy (Christina) of Halifax, her daughter Michele McKnight of Vancouver, sister Marion Pawliw of Regina, grandchildren Zachary and Joshua McKnight of Vancouver and Gillian and Duncan Currie of Halifax. Cremation has taken place and a private funeral mass will be held for family and close friends at Saint Mary's Cathedral Basilica in Halifax. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
