William Duncan Cruickshank, July 22, 1923 to December 6, 2011 William (Bill) Cruickshank, our Dear Uncle passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre after a very short battle with cancer. He was 88 years of age. Bill was born on July 22, 1923 on a farm east of Yorkton. He received his early education at Rosemount School, Victoria School and then the Yorkton Collegiate. He farmed a mile north of Dunleath with his parents for many years and moved with his Mother into Yorkton in 1988. Bill farmed nearly all of his life and told his family that if he had his life to live over again, he would've lived it the same way. He belonged to the Yorkton Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition Association and received an award for over 35 years of service as a Director. He was a very kind and gentle man and will be missed very much by all those who had the joy of knowing him. He leaves to mourn his passing, his nephews, Errol, Morley (Judy), Kerry (Colleen) LaBerge, Grant (Rosemarie) Griffin; his nieces, Louise (Leroy) Davison, Gloria (Barry) Signarowski, Dianna (Gary) Peterson, Wanda (Leland) Kuhn, Adina LaBonte and their families as well as special friends, Robert, Mary Ann and Lawrence Wilson. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Nellie Cruickshank; his sisters, Isabel Orr and Lillian Griffin and their husbands; one nephew Leo, and his wife, Gertrude LaBerge and one niece-in-law, Dorothy LaBerge. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, Saskatchewan with Reverend Devon Pattemore officiating. The organist, Carla Laycock, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross", "How Great Thou Art" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". The interment followed in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Garden of St. Mark with Robert Wilson, Mary Ann Wilson, Lawrence Wilson, Dwight Kuhn, William Kuhn and Jason Signarowski serving as the casket bearers.
