Irene Chillog. On February 9, 2012, with the love, support and blessing of her family, Irene passed away quietly and peacefully to join her beloved Steve. She was 85 years of age. Irene was born to Zolton and Theresa Soos on August 29, 1926 at St. Claude, Manitoba. Soon after her birth the family moved to the Riverton, MB district where she spent her childhood and school days. In 1947 Irene married Steve Chillog. They farmed and raised their family in the Pebble Lake school district south of Yorkton. During these 30 years with Steve by her side, Irene's happiest days were spent cooking, baking, gardening, preparing meals for the men in the field and hauling grain. In 1977 they retired to Yorkton where she was a volunteer for the Yorkton and District Homecare Board and an active member in St. Gerard's Parish Church and Choir. She was also a member of the Yorkton Fair Board for many years and a member of the Pebble Lake Busy Bee club from 1951 to present. Irene enjoyed entertaining and spent many afternoons having coffee and dainties around her lovely set table with her friends. Irene is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Steve and her brothers, Frank and Martin. Irene leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, Carolyn (Tim) Reid of Theodore, SK, Pat (Scott) Moore of Gimli, MB; her grandchildren, Corey (Bettyanne) Reid of Jedburgh, SK, Greg (Jody) Reid of Canora, SK, Lisa (Guillaume) Brodeur of Dawson City, Yukon and Steven (Jen) Moore of Gimli, MB. She also leaves to mourn nine great-grandchildren, Jessica, Callie and Luke Reid, Kaetlynn and Jenna Reid, Alexis and Chloe Brodeur, Fyn Moore and step great-granddaughter, Mya Campbell. She is also survived by her sister, Olga Molnar, sister-in-law, Mary Chillog and several nieces, nephews and 26 Godchildren. Irene was a very devoted wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her. The Prayer Vigil Service was held on Monday, February 13, 2012 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Diana Hornung and other members of St. Gerard's music ministry led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Be Not Afraid", "Psalm 23", "Precious Lord" and "Amazing Grace". The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Judy Berg and other members of St. Gerard's music ministry led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "How Great Thou Art", "Psalm 33", "Here I Am Lord", "Song of the Angels" and "Holy God We Praise Thy Name". The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Corey Reid, Greg Reid, Bettyanne Reid, Jody Reid, Steven Moore and Colleen Molnar-Fluter serving as the casket bearers.
