BYBLOW - Rose Efrosina

Rose Efrosina Byblow was born on August 27, 1926, in Kopanki, Ukraine; she was raised in the Ukraine and as a young woman emigrated to Canada and to Saskatchewan. On May 15, 1949 she was united in marriage to John Byblow. The couple farmed north of Orcadia. They eventually purchased a home in Springside but continued to maintain an interest in the farm. Rose kept a large garden and raised a bountiful vegetable harvest each year. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting & crocheting. Following the death of John in March of 2009, Rose soon after became a resident of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, where she had since resided. Rose passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Nursing Home. She was 86 years of age. Predeceased by her brothers & sisters, she leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons: Bill of Yorkton, and Andy (Sharon) of Springside; a daughter: Irene (Paul) Cowan of Foxboro, ON; four grandchildren: Wesley, Michelle, Stefanie and Jonathon; as well as her many other relatives. The funeral service was held on Wednesday morning, September 12, 2012 from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home in Yorkton with Very Rev. Peter Pidskalny of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. Cantor, Ed Pindus, assisted by members of St. Mary's Parish Choir, led in the singing of the responses. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Andy & Bill Byblow, Melvin & Mitch Hnidey serving as the casketbearers. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
