Wade Scott Britton passed away suddenly on June 14, 2017. Wade was born on February 27, 1966 in Yorkton, SK. He was the third youngest of five children born to Jack and Lillian Britton. He grew up in Churchbridge until the age of 10, at which time the family moved to Rokeby. He loved swimming in the family pool in Rokeby his Dad built and riding his dirt bike and spent much of his time on anything mechanical. He had a brilliant mind for fixing. If you could not get something to work, you called Wade over and the job would get done. At the age of 18 he moved to the west coast and fell in love with it. The ocean became his place of work as he proceeded to get his dive ticket and work in the deep sea diving industry, particularly geoduck fishing. Wade loved this work because it allowed him to be in the place he loved, the water and the ocean. It was here he built a beautiful home with his own two hands, as he was not only a self-taught mechanic, but builder also. An accident on the job left him with damage to his eardrums and tinnitus. The battle with the tinnitus was a difficult one. He was no longer able to do what he loved, that left him searching for his place. He moved back to Yorkton to be with family, but the ocean would eventually call him back, as he loved to be near it. His family called Wade "wind" because he always seemed to be on the move. A very caring person, Wade would get upset if he was to witness cruelty to animals, particularly cats and he was always the first to end family conversations with a "love you". Wade moved back to Yorkton to be near his parents and family and would visit with his parents almost daily to have a coffee and lend them a hand when needed. He also helped his sister's family with seeding and harvest and of course, fixing anything that needed fixing. Meeting up with family at the golf course to enjoy a visit and a game of golf or spending time on the water fishing were his favourite past times. We will truly miss these moments with him, along with his sense of humour and ability to make people laugh. Wade was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Daisy Britton and Len and Elizabeth Green; his Aunt and Uncle, Mary and Keith Day and his nephew, Kristian Konan. Left to mourn are his parents Jack and Lillian Britton; his brother, Shane Britton; his sisters, Melody (Larry) Konan, Mona Britton and Michelle (Paul) Hoffman; his nieces and nephews, Roxanne, Brandon, Shayla, Krystalee, Shadoe, Kolt, Larrisa, Peyton, Clark, Kurt, Katelynne as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In accordance with Wade's wishes, cremation has taken place and his ashes will be returned to the west coast, with a Celebration of Life planned for at a later publicized date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
