"Bettie" Elizabeth Marie (nee Kolodziejak) Alberts, beloved wife of the late Howard Alberts, passed away November 9, 2016. Bettie was born October 10, 1921 at Otthon, SK and grew up in the district. On September 5, 1953 Bettie married Howard Alberts and resided in Yorkton for 63 years. Predeceased by her husband, Howard in 1995; her parents, Martin and Josephine Kolodziejak; her siblings, Thomas, Joseph, Frank, Theresa (all in infancy), Pearl (Joseph) Burant, Felix (Helen) Kolodziejak, Rose (Peter) Borys, Albert (Elsa) Kolodziejak, Thomas (Matilda) Kolodziejak, Theresa (Apolinary) Burant, Angeline (Harry) Holowka, Aggie (Hugh) Fraser, Myrtle (Colin) Campbell, Victor (Helen) Kolodziejak. Bettie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Howie (Linda) Alberts of Regina, Patrick (Janice) Alberts of Regina, Marty (Debby) Alberts of Chitek Lake; loving grandchildren, Mark (Karen) Alberts of Toronto, Tim (Nova) Alberts of Regina, Jolee (Jeremy) Coulter of Calgary, Lucas (Caitlynn) Alberts of Kerrobert, Bobbi (Connor) Alberts of Medicine Hat, Dylan (Amy) Johns of Lumsden, Jasmine (Chris) Johns of Lumsden; great-grandchildren, Emery, Joel and Shawn Alberts, Kale and Sage Johns, Oaklin and Mabel Mang, Max Alberts and Linden Coulter as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Prayer Vigil Service was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Diana Hornung, led the congregation and members of St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church choir in the singing of the hymns, "For the Beauty of the Earth", "Psalm 62" and "Come Home". The scripture was read by Jolee Coulter. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton, SK with Father Francis Hengen serving as the Celebrant. The pianist, Chris Fisher, led the congregation and the church choir in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 25", "Prayer of St. Francis", "One Bread, One Body", "Song of the Angels" and "How Great Thou Art". The readers were Jolee Coulter and Emery Alberts and the Cross Bearer was Bobbi Alberts. The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Laurence Burant, Tim Alberts, Chris Mang, Wes Plosz, Luke Alberts and Harvey Kolodziejak serving as the casket bearers. Members of St. Gerard's C.W.L were asked to serve as the honourary pall bearers. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting .
