Sturgis Horticulture Society acknowledged

The Sturgis Horticultural Society received a 70th anniversary certificate delivered to her home from the Saskatchewan Horticultural Society.

STURGIS — The Sturgis Horticultural Society met at the Sturgis Multiplex on Nov. 16 for a Christmas supper hosted by Liz and Dale Prestie. After supper members exchanged gifts and posed for a group photo.

During the evening past president, Hazel Urbanoski, showed the 70th anniversary certificate delivered to her home from the Saskatchewan Horticultural Society.  Member John Davis from Saskatoon joined the group for the evening.

The Society was formed in 1951 with:

The club hosts an annual Green Thumb plant sale and tea. Even though the Horticultural Show was discontinued, it was replaced by a Garden Party, and a show of flowers and produce with items sold. Guests are encouraged to dress up in Garden Party attire and enjoy a served lunch.
