Senior Outlook Hawks lose out in provincials against Wilkie

Playoffs continue with another local team, Dinsmore, still in the hunt.

OUTLOOK - Any way you slice it, it just wasn't a good ending to the senior hockey season for the Outlook Ice Hawks.

With the regular season in the bag, provincial playoffs began with the Hawks slotted in the Senior 'C' bracket against the Wilkie Outlaws of the Sask West Hockey League.

Their first game was played on the Outlaws' home ice on Saturday, February 1 and was a decidedly one-sided game as the Ice Hawks were shorthanded on this night, with Wilkie taking the victory at a commanding 14-3 score.

Unfortunately for Outlook, things didn't fare any better in Game Two a week later on Saturday, February 8 on the Hawks' home ice as the Outlaws came to play and, more importantly, came to win in a big way. By the time the game was over, the season was officially over for the Ice Hawks as Wilkie was dominant in a 13-0 win.

The victory moves Wilkie forward and slots them against the Eston Ramblers in Senior 'C' action.

Another local team is hoping for better chances in 'C' action as the Dinsmore Dynamos find themselves ranked against the Lanigan Pirates, with that best of three game series set to begin this coming Friday night, February 14 in Dinsmore. Game Two is set for two nights later in Lanigan, and should it be needed, Game Three will return to Dinsmore on Saturday, February 22.
