OUTLOOK - A topic that started as a rumor and typical small town coffee talk has been confirmed, and it affects a number of banking customers in Outlook and the surrounding area.
The Scotiabank branch located in Outlook is slated to close its doors in one year's time.
Daniela Da Silva, a senior communications manager with Scotiabank's head office, said the banking giant had made the "difficult" decision to consolidate a series of branches across various markets in Canada. The move isn't only being felt in Saskatchewan, as it was previously learned that eight branches will be closing in Newfoundland.
Confirming details of the Outlook closure with this reporter, Da Silva shared that further details from Scotiabank would be coming directly to clients and customers starting this week.
"I can confirm that we have made the decision to close our Scotiabank branch in Outlook, SK, and relocate our in-person services to our Stonegate branch at 3015 Clarence Avenue S, Saskatoon, SK, on October 17, 2024," she said. "We have also made the decision to close our Scotiabank branch in Rosetown, SK, and relocate our in-person services to our Blairmore branch at 137 Kensington Blvd., Saskatoon, SK, on March 20, 2024. We will share further details with customers who are impacted by these changes directly starting on October 31, and are committed to supporting our customers and employees through the transition."
