Outlook kids learn about progressive agriculture at rink

Fun-filled day gets Outlook kids up close and personal with agriculture.

OUTLOOK - Youngsters in Outlook spent the end of their school week in a unique setting on Friday, April 21.

Grade 6 students ventured over to the Jim Kook Rec Plex to take in Progressive Agriculture Day, an event spearheaded by the School Community Council (SCC) of Outlook Elementary School.

The fun-filled day allowed kids to learn about farm safety, as well as the methods used in agricultural practices that allows everyday people to enjoy its benefits.

Visiting booths hosted by AGT Foods, as well as stations centering on topics such as sun safety, canal safety, and how people are advancing chemistry in order to advance agriculture, the day allowed kids to perhaps have their eyes opened a little more on the everyday impact that agriculture has on their everyday lives.

With the help and assistance of a number of community members, the day was deemed a big success as it allowed students to get outside of the classroom and get up close and personal in order to learn more about agriculture.
