Outlook ball court sees generations meet in special game

A contest between two age groups made for a fun exhibition for local basketball fans.

OUTLOOK - A game played on the basketball court of Outlook High School on Thursday, March 20 made for one of the most entertaining and yet evenly-played contests seen in some time.

A special invitational game that saw the Outlook Blues senior boys team squaring off against a team of adults comprised of many former OHS alumni was well attended by supporters of both teams and even included some familiar faces taking part in the action, such as retired Outlook High School teacher Ed Jensen, who served as the game's official, and also joining in on the fun was longtime official Bryan Akre.

However, those who may have been thinking that this game was going to play out as a one-sided affair were sorely mistaken as this 'Seniors vs Senior Citizens' contest (not a joke by this reporter, as banners above the team benches stated these names!) also provided some hotly contested action by both rosters, and attendees watched as the scoreclock ratcheted up higher and higher as time wore on.

When all was said and done, it was the adult squad who had bested the current Blues at a score of 76-72, making for a close game that saw age groups collide and possibly even teach the current Outlook players a thing or two about the sport they love to play.

The Outlook senior boys team, coached on this day by Jasmine Akre and comprised of Kynt Wallace, Kirill Masalitin, Dave Canete, Chris Stadler, Thomas Lucas, Dima Horidko, Shan Jardenico, Brody Harris, James Wagner-Mitchel, and Jesse Akre, were joined by alumni players Anthony Eliason, Andrew Bowey, Josh Bowey, Gavin Pederson, Michael Eliason, Luke Lockhart, Maury Ziegler, Owen Redlick, and Conrad Shepherd for this special basketball game that saw generations meet for one night only.
