One dead as Outlook RCMP probe highway collision

Fatal crash results in loss of life near the village of Broderick.

RM OF RUDY - A case of unsafe driving has sadly resulted in the death of one driver and a hospital stay for the other in an incident that happened earlier this week.

On Tuesday, May 9 at approximately 12:45 PM, the Outlook RCMP received a report of a cube van driving erratically on Highway #219. While en-route to the first report, at 1:00 PM, the Outlook RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway #219 and #15 involving the van and a truck. Attending the scene along with local police were Outlook EMS workers and the Outlook Rudy Fire Department.

The adult male driver of the truck was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries. The driver of the cube van, a 47-year-old male from Saskatoon, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A team with the RCMP Collision Reconstruction continues to investigate the incident in conjunction with the Outlook RCMP.
