OUTLOOK - A lunar eclipse caused many local eyes to dart upward above Outlook and area on the night of Sunday, March 30.

Described as a partial eclipse that began the day before, the skyward show illustrated a solar eclipse that occurred at the Moon’s ascending node (new moon) of orbit with a magnitude of 0.9376.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. A partial solar eclipse occurred in the polar regions of the Earth when the center of the Moon's shadow misses the Earth.

It just goes to show what you can see when you pause and look up in the sky at night.
