OUTLOOK - The LCBI Bisons senior girls soccer team has to be feeling pretty good this week at school after they hosted the 3A Provincial Soccer Championship over October 28 & 29.
Welcoming teams from Chief Little Pine, Middle Lake and Osler, the games got underway on the field on Friday, where the Bisons were first matched up against Osler. The home team was able to maintain a 1-0 lead for the first, but the visiting Lions were able to take the lead in the second and wound up defeating LCBI at 2-1. That meant Osler was headed to the gold medal game, where they would eventually be matched up against the roster from Middle Lake. In that game, it would be the Middle Lake Lancers who would leave Outlook as the 3A Provincial Soccer Champions, defeating Osler at a score of 2-1.
Playing in the bronze medal game on Saturday afternoon, the Bisons were put up against the team from Chief Little Pine. Displaying some impressive team tactics, LCBI was able to retain control of the field and the ball for the duration of the game. With four goals scored by #12 Georgia Johnson and two by #8 Olivia Hefner, the hometown Bisons were en route to a victory at a score of 6-1, winning provincial bronze hardware.
Coached by Rick Delainey and Bryan Balaton, the LCBI Bisons senior girls soccer team is comprised of Alexandra Joyes, Sheridan Hefner, Kellee Chubak, Elisa Woudwijk, Hannah Zoe, Olivia Hefner, Jennifer Jo, Holly Nelson, Georgia Johnson, Alexa Konkin, Lana Knutson, Kaitlyn Wright, and Samarah Butler.
