NORTH BATTLEFORD - The LCBI Bisons boys soccer team gave it their all, and by the end of the day, they came back home to Outlook with a bronze medal.

The team ventured to North Battleford to play in the 3A Boys Provincial Soccer Championship hosted at Centennial Park Field over Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26. Joining them out on the pitch were teams from Maymont, Waldheim, and Valley Christian Academy in Osler.

On Friday at 2:00 pm, LCBI found themselves matched up against Waldheim and despite a solid effort from the Bisons, they were bested at a score of 4-1, meaning Waldheim would advance to the provincial final the next day.

Their opponents would end up being the Osler squad, who defeated Maymont at a commanding score of 12-0.

Heading to the bronze medal game on Saturday, LCBI squared off against Maymont and managed to stave off any momentum they tried to muster, keeping command of the field and getting further ahead on the scoreboard. By the time the game had concluded, the Bisons had won at a score of 8-0, making them the bronze medal champions.

In the gold medal game, it was Waldheim who took the championship, defeating Osler at a 2-1 score.

Coached by Rick Delainey, this year's LCBI Bisons soccer team consisted of players Andreas LeBlanc, Omid Rezae, Mathias L’Heureux , Asher McIvor, Reagan Bouchard, Matthew Nelson, Olivia Hefner, Hamid Rezae, Nathan Boot, Daylan Hoeflicher, Kyler Follick, Joel Wright, Kyler Spencer, Aiden Tran, and Kaitlin Wright.
