KENASTON - The Kenaston Blizzards find themselves fighting with their backs against the wall.
Well, if we're going to talk hockey, then they're really up against the boards.
The team, playing in the Senior 'A' bracket of the provincial playoffs, is in the midst of a series against the Round Lake Bears to decide which team will win the provincial championship.
Kenaston won the same provincial title just last season - as well as the Senior 'C' and 'D' championships in 2023 and 2022, respectively - and so a repeat victory in 2025 and a fourth championship win in a row is exactly what the team is aiming for as they hosted the Bears in Game One of the series on Sunday, March 23 at Kenaston Place.
When all was said and done, a win for the Blizzards wasn't in the cards as the Bears took the victory at a score of 8-4. Kenaston will hope to regroup and take it to Round Lake in Game Two, which is set for this Saturday, March 29 at 5:30 in the Ochapowace First Nation.
