OUTLOOK - Since the time in which this reporter brought readers the story of Outlook man Winton 'Bud' Hardy's untimely death while serving in the conflict between the Ukraine and Russia earlier this summer, support has been shown for Hardy's family back at home in the riverside community.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by family friend Jeremy Derdall has been collecting donations for Bud's family after his untimely death back in June. The funds are being earmarked for both providing financial assistance to the Hardy family, as well as helping to create a lasting memorial for Bud at the Outlook Cemetery.
As well, any extra funds that go unused will be donated to the Outlook branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, an organization that has been a cornerstone of support for other veterans and their families.
To date, $2,170 has been raised in the online campaign, with a goal of $15,000.
