Conquest fire crew hosts outdoor comedy and music

Comedy and live music were a big hit with a big crowd in Conquest.

CONQUEST - A night of comedy, music and good times hosted by the Conquest Fire Department was on tap for many who came out to the Conquest rink on Saturday, June 17.

Held outdoors, the event was a fundraiser for the department, and on tap to help the crew out was the evening's entertainment. Brody Siebert, a country artist from Saskatoon, was onstage with his band belting out some tunes for anyone who felt like dancing under the stars.

But perhaps the fan favorite for many in attendance was comedian Quick Dick McDick, whose popularity around the province seems to grow by the week. For nearly 90 minutes, the Tuffnell-area farmer had the crowd laughing with his no-holds-barred, funny-when-you-think-about-it takes on life, farming, small town people, and of course, the federal government, which most assuredly was NOT safe from McDick's target.

With live music filling everyone's ears and more than a few wobbly pops being enjoyed, many people had a great time on what turned out to be a gorgeous pre-summer night.
