I wish I could vote for Hillary Clinton. Given that we sleep with the elephant, and everything south of the border affects us, it would only seem fair that we could vote in US elections.
While most of our children are firmly into school routines, there is a marginalized group that may never hope to finish school. Adolescent girls in developing countries fall off at alarming rates, and sadly, in many cases, the solution could be as simple as providing them with safe and clean sanitation and feminine hygiene.
Hillary Clinton has said, 鈥淚 believe that the rights of women and girls is the unfinished business of the 21st century.鈥
We cannot hope to have a world free of extreme poverty without educating half of its citizens. Canadians believe in doing what鈥檚 right and a good start would be to increase our international aid in order to help young girls reach their full potential. I cannot vote for Hillary Clinton, but I 鈥渃an鈥 vote for a Canadian party that will bring our level of international aid up to the standards set by other civilized countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Luxembourg. And that, I will.
