Letter to the Editor - You're a mean one Mr. Grinch

Dear Editor: You're a mean one Mr.

Dear Editor:

You're a mean one Mr. Grinch!

So after a joyous Christmas and a relaxing Boxing Day, I woke up early and went to work so I could get some work done before my coworkers came in with stories about their children and grandchildren and all the wondrous gifts that had been given and received.

I managed to accomplish everything I had scheduled and got in some story sessions and some laughs throughout the day also. I squeeked out a bit early so I could go home and Skype my father-in-law to wish him a Happy 80th birthday.

We shared a piece of cake (him on one end and my family on the other). We wished him a great day then my wife and I went for a drive to get away from the kids. No offense kids, but we like quiet time without you.

As we were returning home I was looking at the Christmas lights on our street, already planning out how I can improve upon my lighting design next year.

As we turned the corner toward our house, I noticed immediately that my pride and joy, My Red and Green Rotating Laser Christmas lights-which were the only ones I saw in all of Yorkton or at least my street- were gone. Vanished without a trace. I could see where the extension cord had been pulled from the fresh snow and unplugged.

I asked my wife when had we last seen the lights. Was it last night, the night before. Certainly it was there last night, but tonight, nope it's gone, vanished into the night.

I will certainly remember December 27, 2012. The world may not have ended but my Christmas cheer most certainly did.

We moved from the crime capital of Canada, Prince George, BC to escape petty thefts and random crime. It would appear that maybe we didn't move far enough.

Shame on you Mr. Grinch you stole my Christmas Spirit. I have some instructions for you. When the lights on your new acquisition are on, stare deep into those laser beams and maybe, just maybe you will see that your heart is a few sizes too small.
