Motocross The Millstone Raceway will be hosting a provincial motocross race Saturday, Sept. 18. As many as 300 competitors are expected to be racing at various points throughout the day.. Action begins at 10 a.m., and the gates open at 7 a.m.

The Millstone Raceway will be hosting a provincial motocross race Saturday, Sept. 18. As many as 300 competitors are expected to be racing at various points throughout the day.. Action begins at 10 a.m., and the gates open at 7 a.m.



Golf

The Deer Park Golf Course will be hosting yet another tournament when the United Way Charity Mixed golf tournament. It will take place on Sept. 10. Anyone is welcome to enter and can do so by email or fax to the Yorkton and District United Way Ltd. Entries are limited to 92 golfers and registration must be made by Sept. 3. Fee is $75 and includes 18 holes of golf, dinner and a t-shirt.



Racing

The Parkland Racing Association will be holding another two-day race weekend on Sept. 18-19 at the Yellowhead International Speedway. Races will be held on both days and racing starts at 2 p.m. Admission to the speedway is $8 for those 13 and older, $4 for those between 6-12, and those 5 and under are admitted free.



Peewee football

Yorkton's PeeWee football team is coming off its second win of the season, a defeat of White City. They play the Vikings next at Century Field at 12 noon and the Jr. Raiders play the Stampeders.



Hockey equipment drive

Kidsport and the City of Yorkton have teamed up to host a used hockey equipment drive. Donations of lightly-used hockey gear will be collected at the City Wide Registration Sept. 1 at the Gallagher Centre Flexi-Hall between 6-9 p.m. For more information, contact Christy at 828-2401. Yorkton will also be holding its City-Wide Registration today (Sept. 1) at the Flexi-Hall. The registration starts at 6 p.m., and goes until 9 p.m. Registration for the cities' many fall sports activities and other programs takes place here for one night only.
